54th Annual Morgan County Sorghum Festival

Located on Main Street in West Liberty,  KY and along Riverside Drive at Old Mill Park, join us for our 54th annual Morgan County Sorghum Festival. Here you’ll find a plethora of handmade items and artists and craftsmen demonstrating the very best in workmanship. From blacksmithing to quilt-making, there is something for everyone. Daily music adds to the charm of this small town festival as does the traditional wearing of bib overalls donned by the locals. You’ll be taken back in time watching old-fashioned traditional sorghum making by Danny Townsend, a charter member of the National Sweet Sorghum Producers and Processors Association. In addition, many of Danny’s planting and harvesting techniques have been instrumental in bringing sorghum back from the brink of extinction. You’ll be able to sample Townsend’s Pure Cane Sorghum which has been voted National Champion Sweet Sorghum twice and see the traditional mule-turned cane mill. This is history and culture being handed down and preserved. Local clubs, civic groups and churches provide delicious concessions and a hometown parade is the highlight of the festival at 1PM on Saturday. Come take it all in!
